Udhagamandalam: Under the aegis of the Public Awareness Association of Udhagamandalam, the Consumer Protection Center Gudalur, and the Hemendra Foundation, World Human Rights Day was observed at Masinagudy on Friday.
Addressing the participants, the Inspector of Police, Masinagudy, Indhrani, said that in maintaining law and order and ensuring amity, the police and the public should work hand in hand.
Forester James William said that by protecting wildlife, the future of mankind can be safeguarded.
The President, Consumer Protection Center Sivasubramaniam, said that if human rights are violated, slavery will be promoted. All should join hands to protect human rights.

The Secretary, Public Awareness Association of Udhagamandalam G. Janardhanan said that relationships in families should be strengthened and circle of friends should expand.
The former Chairperson, Masinagudy Panchayat, K. Jermina said that education of women should be accorded high priority.
